Tetris Schoolica is a collaborative work I did jointly with hacker from my lab Goran Mahovlić for the exhibition Gaming Playgound. It is circuit bent hand-held retro gaming toy with Tetris that uses instead of buttons on device DIY sensors on the floor and gamers have to jump in order to play the game. The game is extremely difficult and so far only one gamer managed to play it up to the third level.
The idea behind the work is to emphasize the importance of moving and using our bodies instead of passively accepting things offered to us in society. The exhibition was based on retro and vintage gaming platforms, therefore the standard use of hand held games reminded me on how we use nowadays our mobile phones.
